Surrey United Firefighters is a Canadian soccer team based in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The club was founded as part of a merger in 2008 and have played in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League since 2010.[1]

History

The current team was formed in 2008 as a result of a merger between Surrey United and Vancouver Firefighters.[1]

Surrey United

Founded in 1999, Surrey United played in the Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL), a national amateur league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid until 2009.[2]

Vancouver Firefighters

In 1962 the Vancouver Firefighters defeated a Mexican national select team at Wrigley Field, Chicago to win the J. F. Kennedy Trophy.[2][3]

The Firefighters were Canadian National Challenge Cup four times, in 1965, 1973, 1983 and 1990.[4][5]

Surrey United Firefighters

The Surrey United Firefighters were winners of the 2009/2010 Vancouver Metro Soccer League Premier Division.[6]
